Shane van Gisbergen Makes History in Mexico with NASCAR Cup Series Victory

Quad Lock ambassador Shane van Gisbergen delivered a masterclass in racing on Sunday, capturing victory at the first-ever NASCAR Cup Series race in Mexico City, held at the iconic Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Representing Trackhouse Racing, SVG led an incredible 60 out of 100 laps and crossed the finish line 16.5 seconds ahead of the field, marking the largest margin of victory in a Cup Series race since 2009.
A Historic Triumph for SVG and NASCAR
This milestone victory marks van Gisbergen’s first win of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season and his second career Cup Series triumph after his sensational debut at the Chicago Street Race in 2023. More importantly, the win locks him into the 2025 NASCAR Playoffs and places him alongside fellow Chevrolet drivers already in contention.
“I think the 54 was close, but that last stint, what a pleasure to just be ripping lap after lap and to watch them all get smaller in the mirror. Unreal,” said van Gisbergen.
SVG’s win also secures his place as the fourth Chevrolet driver to clinch a playoff berth this year, adding to Chevy’s growing total of six wins in the season’s first 16 races.
With his playoff berth secured and momentum building, van Gisbergen is one to watch for the rest of the season. His unique blend of road course expertise, global racing experience, and laser focus has already made him a fan favourite.
The NASCAR Cup Series continues on June 22 at Pocono Raceway, before a road course double header with Chicago and Sonoma in July, where Quad Lock will feature as a primary partner. We can’t wait to watch.
